Want to be healthier? There are some simple tweaks to your lifestyle. The exercise, right diet, and stress-relief plan play a big role.

Exercise Every Day

Exercise boosts your heart health, builds muscle and bone strength, and wards off health problems. The more active, the more better.

Around 3 hours of moderate activity, like brisk walking or dancing, every week. If you're OK with vigorous exercise, stick to one hour and 15 minutes a week like or playing tennis or running.

Do you have a busy schedule, try short bursts of activity throughout the day, like park your car away and keep walking, use stairs, a good target is 10,000 steps a day.

Follow a Healthy Diet

There's an easy recipe if your goal is to keep away problems like heart disease and strokes.

  • Eat more fruits and veggies
  • Use whole grains. Use brown rice instead of white rice and whole wheat pasta
  • Choose lean proteins like fish, poultry, beans
  • Cut down on processed food, sugar, salt, and saturated fat
  • If you like to follow a strict diet plan, go for it. If not, it's OK. "Find what works for you."
  • Choosing healthy foods and planning small, frequent meals works well.

Lose Weight

When you have extra pounds of weight, it increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

Lose 1-2 pounds a week by being active and eating better. If you want to lose more weight, try 5 hours of exercise a week.

Start by cutting sugar, use like salad dressing, packaged bread, and nuts. Try to avoid soda and sugar-laced coffee drinks.
